Charles is a founding member of Investors’ Security Trust. He has 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 22 years as President and CEO of a Fortune 500 financial institution.
As President and CEO of Investors’ Security Trust , Charles is committed to keeping the Company independently owned and operated so that clients receive the highest level of personalized trust, estate and investment management services possible.
Charles grew up in Southwest Florida and works tirelessly on a volunteer level to make this community a better place to live. He has received many honors for his dedication including the Clara Barton Humanitarian Award, Gulfshore Life Magazine’s Man of the Year Award and the Distinguished Leadership Award from Leadership Lee County.
Currently, Charles is Chairman of the Board for Lee Memorial Heath Foundation and Canturbury Schools. He is past chair and current board member for the Jewish Federation of Lee County; Hope Hospice and Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation. Charles is a board member for Children's Advocacy Center and Senior Advisor for Southwest Florida Community Foundation.
Charles graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Finance and completed the LSU Graduate School of Banking.
Chris is a founding member of Investors’ Security Trust. With over 30 years of experience in trust and estate administration, Chris has earned his title as one of the most respected trust professionals in Southwest Florida.
In his role as Senior Trust Officer, he combines an extensive technical and practical background in trust and estate administration with exceptional interpersonal skills. Chris’ many long-time clients will attest that he cares first and foremost about their well-being and always ensures their needs are met.
As a result of his decades of service in Southwest Florida, Chris has established an extensive network of relationships within the professional community, including attorneys, CPAs and financial experts. His experience in the banking industry has helped him develop a strong working knowledge on a wide range of financial and administration services, which he uses to advise his clients in making the best decisions with their estate and financial planning.
Chris has a BS degree in Economics from Ohio University. He is a graduate of Florida Trust School and ABA National Graduate Trust School CTFA.
Chris is well known for his dedication to the Southwest Florida community. Currently, he is Senior Advisor and Past Chair with Southwest Florida Community Foundation. He acts as Trustee with St. Michael’s Lutheran School Foundation and Lee Health Care Resources. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Lee County Housing Authority.
Ms. Lawson is a founding member of Investors’ Security Trust and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.
In her role as Operations and Administrative Trust Officer, Chris is responsible for the oversight of trust operations for the company. She is a seasoned trust administrative officer with excellent client communication skills and a high level of technical knowledge in the field of estate and trust administration.
Chris graduated from the Florida Bankers Association Trust School in 1992.
Kevin joined the firm in 2007 with more than 18 years of investment and banking experience.
Kevin’s primary focus is managing all aspects of equity and fixed income investments for client portfolios. As a member of the company’s Investment Committee, he assists in shaping the portfolio investment process and overall asset allocations. He also provides research and recommendations of third-party equity investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Investors’ Security Trust, Kevin served as an Institutional Broker at a regional investment bank in the southeastern U.S. He worked for twelve years as a commercial lender and retail manager for two regional banks in Naples.
Kevin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Florida, and is also a graduate of CBA Graduate School in Retail Bank Management.
He has been active in the Southwest Florida community including terms as a director of the YMCA of Collier County and President and Director of the 5th Avenue South Association in Naples. He has also worked with the St. Francis Xavier School in Fort Myers.
John has over 30 years of expertise as a top investment specialist including over 20 years as a Portfolio Manager for high and ultra-high net worth clients.
In his role of Senior Portfolio Manager, John specializes in developing and managing customized investment portfolios for high net worth investors, trusts, foundations and other non-profit organizations. John leads the development and maintenance of the equity strategies and investments and helps develop the overall investment philosophy for Investors’ Security Trust.
Prior to joining the company, John worked for several major wealth management institutions as Senior Portfolio Manager and Team Leader where he was top ranked in performance, client satisfaction and service.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Akron with a BA in Business Administration Finance. He also holds a MBA in Financial Analysis from the University of Phoenix (4.0 GPA) and holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC). John has extensive experience as a Financial and Estate Planner.
John actively supports the Southwest Florida community and currently lends his investment expertise in his roles as Board Member and Investment Committee Chairmen for Cape Coral Community Foundation and Investment Committee Member at David Lawrence Center in Naples. John also is a volunteer for the United Way.
Karen is a founding member of Investors’ Security Trust and has over 20 years of investment and banking experience.
In her role as Portfolio Manager , Karen helps clients build a portfolio to meet their unique investment objectives. She actively manages these portfolios, assuring that the asset allocation is held to the strict guidelines set with each client. Karen also functions as the firm's Accounting Officer, providing monthly reporting and financial analysis for the CEO.
Karen has worked for two Fortune 500 financial institutions and has extensive experience in the trust investment and financial accounting fields.
Karen is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. She is also a graduate of the Cannon Trust School.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.
Debbie joined Investors’ Security Trust in 2013 with over 30 years’ experience in trust and estate administration and extensive knowledge in fiduciary tax management.
Prior to joining Investors’ Security Trust, Debbie held high level positions in trust administration and fiduciary tax management with several top national banks. She began her career in trust and estates by working with prominent law firms for over 8 years.
As Trust Officer, Debbie builds strong relationships with clients to better understand their financial and estate planning goals and concerns, then works collaboratively with their legal and tax advisors to implement customized solutions. Through her experience working with top estate and trust planning law and accounting firms, she understands the legal responsibilities of being a fiduciary.
Debbie is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning as well as a licensed CPA (TN). She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Temple University.
Debbie is actively involved with the Estate Planning Council of Lee County, Planned Giving Council of Lee County and is on the Planned Giving Committee for Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties.
Philip joined Investors’ Security Trust Company with over 18 years of experience in the trust and wealth management industry.
As a trust officer, Phil is dedicated in the areas of estate and tax planning, charitable planning, and estate and trust administration. He enjoys building strong relationships with his clients and their families and collaborating with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive, customized plan.
Prior to joining the firm, Phil worked for a Fortune 500 financial institution in Southwest Florida in the areas of trust administration, private banking and retail branch management. His experience in the banking industry has helped him develop a strong working knowledge on a wide range of financial and administration services, which he uses to advise his clients in making the best decisions with their estate and financial planning.
Philip earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Michigan State University. He has attended the ABA National Graduate Trust School and the Cannon School of Trust Administration. He is also a registered Para Planner with the College of Financial Planning.
He is actively involved in the Southwest Florida Community supporting such organizations as the United Way, American Red Cross and the Cape Coral Community Foundation.
Patty is a founding member of Investors’ Security Trust and has extensive experience in administration and management. She brings a variety of skills to Investors’ Security Trust acquired through her experience working for an international original equipment manufacturer, the federal government, a Fortune 500 financial institution, and as a small business owner. With eight years of banking experience she focuses on providing clients with exceptional customer service.
Patty has worked as a volunteer with the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of their “Emerging Leaders 2001” class.
Greg Blurton serves as Vice President of Development & Strategy at Investors’ Security Trust where he oversees the Company’s strategic planning process and direction and all corporate/business development initiatives. Prior to joining the company, Greg helped establish and build a local community bank’s presence in Lee County, overseeing its lending and branch deposit operations. He also served in the United States Air Force.
Greg is a Board Member for the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and is a Mentor to a 9th grade student at Gateway Charter School as part of the Take Stock In Children program; he also is a Board Member for Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, Southwest Florida Museum of History and Goodwill’s L.I.F.E. Academy; member of the Lee County School Board Finance Advisory Committee; member of the President’s Council and AMVEF Cabinet at Hodges University; member of the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball and Go Red Executive
Leadership Teams and Red Tie Society; member of the Fort Myers South Rotary Club; is President of a youth lacrosse organization in Estero; and Asst. Coach of the Estero High School Boys Lacrosse Team.
Greg is a graduate of the ABA Stonier National Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania and has a B.S. in Business Management from Hodges University.
Jacque joined Investors’ Security Trust in 2010 and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.
As Operations Officer, Jacque helps support the Administrative and Investment group with any operational tasks needed to efficiently handle clients needs.
Prior to joining Investor’s Security Trust, she served in various capacities including bank retail management, bank operations, trust operations and most recently treasury management operations. Jacque has excellent communication skills and an in-depth understanding of operations. She also understands the importance of excellent customer service and has extensive experience interacting with clients.
Jacque has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Indiana University.
Crissy Fabian joined Investors’ Security Trust in 2011 as Marketing Coordinator. She has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
As Marketing Coordinator, Crissy works with senior leadership to help define, develop and execute business development initiatives. She is responsible for coordinating all aspects of marketing including client events, seminars, public relations and advertising.
Previously, Crissy worked for several Fortune 500 financial institutions in marketing and sales management. She has extensive experience in training and development and most recently managed a successful retail bank branch.
She graduated with a BS in Business Management from University of Tampa. She is involved with PACE Center for Girls of Lee County and is a FutureMaker mentor with the Foundation for Lee County Public schools. She is a member of Florida Public Relations Association - Southwest Florida chapter and HRMA of Southwest Florida.
Tari joined Investors’ Security Trust as Investment Assistant in 2004.
She has worked for a local Fortune 500 financial institution and has over 23 years of extensive experience in the investment and financial services field. Tari is also a graduate of the Florida Bankers Association Florida Graduate Trust School.
She has lived in the Southwest Florida community for over 30 years and has adopted Cape Coral as her home.
Karin joined Investors’ Security Trust in 2010 with over 20 years of experience in the financial industry.
Prior to joining Investors’ Security Trust, she served in a variety of capacities including retail bank management, sales and service training and held brokerage and insurance licenses.
Karin moved to Fort Myers in 1995. She has been involved with numerous civic organizations including Financial Women International, Civitan, Junior Achievement, Mid Ohio Kidney Foundation, Richland County Dental Clinic and United Way.
Janis joined Investors’ Security Trust in 2008 as a Team Assistant. She has over 20 years of banking experience and previously worked for a Fortune 500 financial institution. Janis offers a wide range of knowledge and technical expertise in account management and understands the importance of providing the highest level of client service.
Lyndi Ferguson joined Investors’ Security Trust in June 2013 with 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
As Team Assistant, Lyndi supports the Trust Officers with processing transactions, fee processing, preparing reports, opening and closing accounts and other client service requests.
Prior to joining IST, Lyndi worked for several financial institutions in Southwest Florida and Ohio. She has extensive experience in IRA administration, training and development and retail branch banking and operations.
